Welcome to EdPrograms!

We are a team of dedicated volunteers serving as Education Program Coordinators for the AMSS. Our mission is to foster a collaborative and supportive teaching environment where older-year students mentor and guide their junior peers.

By overseeing innovative and engaging educational programs, we aim to create opportunities that enhance learning, build confidence, and strengthen connections across cohorts. Whether through interactive workshops, peer tutoring sessions, or hands-on teaching experiences, we are committed to empowering students to share knowledge, sharpen skills, and thrive together.

Always reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to get involved at edprograms@amss.org.au

AMSS-run Practice OSCEs give Year 4 and 5 students the chance to refine their clinical knowledge, reasoning, and timing in a realistic, low-pressure setting. With older students volunteering as examiners, participants can practise safely, learn from mistakes without judgement, and receive constructive feedback to build confidence.

Excitingly, thanks to the work of the AMSS VPE in 2025, faculty are now involved in these practice OSCEs. This means that the stations you encounter in the AMSS-run sessions directly reflect what you will be assessed on, giving you even more relevant and targeted preparation.

Peer2Peer connects clinical year students (Y4, 5 and 6) with early clinical students (Y1 and Y2) for engaging, student-led tutorials tailored to current learning objectives. Click here for more information!

ClinPrac offers pre-clinical students extra practice and feedback on history-taking and physical examination skills, guided by students from the year above!

Second-year students teach first years, and third-year students teach second years; the perfect set-up for Y1 and Y2 to build confidence and skills before starting their clinical placements!

The Teaching Series is a year-long initiative where Year 6 students deliver high-yield tutorials to Year 4 and 5 medical students. The program focuses on key examinable concepts and clinical skills, with the tutorial schedule strategically aligned with peak preparatory periods such as pre-OSCEs and end-of-year exams.

Teaching Slides for 2026 will be uploaded HERE once the sessions are completed!
