Welcome to the Adelaide University Neurological Society (AUNS)!

Founded in 2025, the AUNS is a student-led organisation dedicated to fostering interest in neurology and neuroscience among medical students. We aim to bridge the gap between pre-clinical learning and real-world practice by providing opportunities for hands-on experiences, case-based studies & discussions, and networking with experts in the field. Through engaging educational events, clinical workshops, & research opportunities, we strive to equip future doctors with a deeper interest and understanding of neurological conditions and their impact on patient care. Whether you’re considering a career in neurology or simply keen to expand your knowledge, AUNS is here to support and inspire your medical journey.

Our Events

We host a diverse array of education events tailored to both your exams and your interests, giving you the opportunity to expand your knowledge beyond the curriculum while also boosting your clinical confidence.

Here's what we did in our first year starting out!

  • Neuro Narratives: A series where we explore both real and fictitious patient cases, following their journey from first symptoms to diagnosis, treatment, and beyond.
  • Neuro DAQ Night: We guide you through how to tackle Neuro and MSK DAQs (Data Analysis Questions), so you can perform at your absolute best in exams.
  • Weekly Qs: We have interactive weekly quizzes on our socials designed to sharpen your clinical reasoning skills with exam-style questions.
  • Neurological Examination Workshops: Get involved in hand-on training with clinicians.
  • Exam Prep Sessions and Mock OSCEs: Try realistic mock exams to help you prepare for your OSCEs and consolidate knowledge in a practical, exam-focused format.
  • Research Night: We provide networking and mentorship opportunities with clinicians and researchers to help you explore pathways into neuroscience research.
  • Charity Walks: We’re passionate about raising awareness of neurological health both within the university and beyond. Through collaborations and outreach initiatives, AUNS contributes to campaigns on dementia, epilepsy, stroke, and other neurological conditions.

We’re so excited to meet you and can’t wait to share our passion for all things neuro!
