2. PROF DEVITT EMEDICI ONLINE MCQ for Year 4 and Year 5 students

Prof Devitt will be organising online examinations through his platform Emedici. The AMSS are strong supporters of Emedici and are grateful to Prof Devitt for organising this. This has been done in 2018 and 2017 and we are pleased this is continuing. This is an online exam and will be completed using eMedici (it can be completed from any location with a reliable internet connection i.e. the same as any other eMedici module).

The two exams are as follows:

Year 4 - Wed 23rd OCT

  • This will be a 120 item MCQ going over 2 hours
    • The 120 questions will be divided into four sections each containing 30 items, so students just work their way through each section of the exam module. This will prevent Emedici from freezing/crashing (as has occurred in the past)
  • The MCQ will cover SHU/MHU/Psych/MSK content
  • To ensure the maximum number of students can participate, the exam will open in three time slots (10am-12pm, 2pm-4pm, 6pm-8pm). Students can log into Emedici and complete the exam in ONE of these time slots. All 3 time slots are identical in terms of questions (PLEASE DO NOT COMPLETE ALL 3 TIME SLOTS).

Year 5 - Mon 21st OCT

  • This will be a 180 item MCQ going over 3 hours
    • The 180 questions will be divided into six sections each containing 30 items, so students just work their way through each section of the exam module. This will prevent Emedici from freezing/crashing (as has occurred in the past)
  • The MCQ will cover SHU/MHU/Psych/MSK/Paeds/O&G/Anaesthetics content
  • To ensure the maximum number of students can participate, the exam will open in three time slots (9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm, 5pm-8pm). Students can log into Emedici and complete the exam in ONE of these time slots. All 3 time slots are identical in terms of questions (PLEASE DO NOT COMPLETE ALL 3 TIME SLOTS).

Once the two examinations have been completed, Prof Devitt will go through the individual results, which will be emailed out to each participant. The following week the examinations will be released on Emedici again - but with the correct responses and feedback for the items.

More information will be posted on this page as it becomes available. Please also check the eMedici Facebook page for further details.
