Applications are now open for this year's MedRevue creative and executive sub-committees. Whether you love to dance down the corridors, design amazing costumes or are mad organised and want to contribute to an amazing cause, there are heaps of positions available for everyone to get involved.

Applications are due in by Wednesday 7 March at 8 PM.

Role Descriptions

Creative Sub-Committee

Band Leader x 1

The Band Leader will be responsible for recruiting musicians, scoring music and conducting the band. Ability to arrange music is essential and some conducting experience is preferable. The band leader may also wish to further allocate some of the arranging work, as it can be quite an extensive task. Attendance at auditions and creative sub-committee meetings is required.

Chorus Leader(s) x 2

The chorus leaders will be responsible for assisting with vocal arrangements, teaching the chorus and assisting the leads in learning songs to a high standard when required. Skills in arranging music are required. Enthusiastic attendance at auditions, all rehearsals and creative sub-committee meetings is required.

Dance Leader(s) x 1-2

Responsible for choreography for the show, both for dance group and chorus. This year we are looking to significantly integrate these two groups, so choreography may include talented and less experienced dancers. Prior choreography experience essential. Attendance at auditions, all rehearsals and creative sub-committee meetings is required.

Costume/Props/Make-Up x 2

Responsible for continuing the high level of costuming and props that have been seen in previous MedRevues. Quality set design is one of our key areas of improvement this year, so creativity is a must. Sewing and set-building skills necessary and makeup skills or willingness to recruit assistance preferred. Attendance at creative sub-committee meetings is required, as is attendance at some rehearsals.

Executive Sub-Committee

Logistics x 2-3

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) creating the Power-Point that serves as the backdrop to the musical, filming scenes for use in-show, recording blocking at rehearsals and a number of other behind the scenes tasks needed for the show to run smoothly. Occasional assistance with bookings and equipment may be required. Attendance at all rehearsals and executive subcommittee meetings is required. Fair warning, this role requires a reasonable time commitment, particularly as we get closer to the show, but is extremely rewarding.

Sponsorship x 1

Responsibilities include obtaining sponsorship where possible for assistance in advertising, props and costumes and other money costing things. This includes advertisement of and communication with any sponsors that may come on board. Attendance at executive subcommittee meetings is required. This role will require more work immediately following election, with less work leading up to the show.

Media/Marketing/FoH x 1-2

Media and marketing responsibilities include creation of a comprehensive marketing campaign for the show, via multiple platforms, assistance with media during the show and advertisement and ticket sales. This will be a big focus this year so enthusiasm and creativity are a must. In addition, Front of House responsibilities will include organisation of bake sale items, raffles, prizes and volunteers to assist on the night of the show. Attendance at executive subcommittee meetings is required.
