AMSS BENEVOLENT FUND – Financial Assistance Stream
Aim:
The Adelaide Medical Students’ Society Benevolent Fund – Financial Assistance Stream exists to financially benefit members of the Adelaide Medical Students’ Society who demonstrate financial need.
Establishment and Viability:
The Adelaide Medical Students’ Society Benevolent Fund was established with funds from the AMSS General Fund and its Major Sponsors. The Adelaide Medical Students’ Society Benevolent Fund had a starting balance of $6,000, held in a cash management fund. The minimum balance of the fund shall not fall below $5000. To this end, the amount given to recipients of the Fund will reflect the individual’s financial situation and the need to ensure the longevity of the Fund.
Future AMSS Committees will contribute to the fund as they see fit with the possibility of ongoing support from external sources. It will be understood that while no repayment of assistance received from the Fund is required, it is anticipated that recipients will contribute to the Fund once their financial position has improved.
