One of the great pleasures of studying medicine is the ability to travel; a Medical Degree really is a passport to almost anywhere in the world and it’s not just doctors who can partake in this travel! Medical Students at the University of Adelaide undertake an elective at the end of their fifth year of study and are encouraged to challenge themselves with an overseas or interstate medical placement. However, more and more often, students in the earlier years of the course are choosing to travel overseas for exiting electives; below is a short list of resources to get you started in your planning of an overseas elective. Happy travelling!
