The IMVS was established in 1938 and is the largest provider of pathology services in South Australia with 14 laboratories across the state, in both metropolitan and regional locations.
They are committed to providing quality, diverse pathology services to the RAH, other public and private hospitals, medical practitioners and specialists, industry and the general community.
The IMVS is government funded and uses its profits to support a variety of research and education projects. An integral aspect of these projects is the Hanson Centre for Cancer Research, which is primarily devoted to furthering the understanding of the causes and potential treatments of cancer.
